Gold fillings are usually cheaper than amalgam ones. Or should poor people let their teeth rot out of their mouths before they accept government assistance? In addition to being the worst kind of poverty-policing, this is just ignorant of, like, how buying stuff works. A poor person might have already had a decked-out SUV or jewelry before they needed food stamps. Blargh. -Jess
